COVID-19 UPDATE
May 29, 2020
Dear Members, Colleagues and Friends,
I hope you and your families are well and keeping safe.
As nine weeks of full lockdown comes to an end, TTS is currently working with colleagues from other indoor sports and sportscotland to develop sport specific guidelines to enable the safe return to playing table tennis which secures the health and wellbeing of all our community.
Please note that in Scotland these guidelines will have to be signed off by the Scottish Government prior to release and will include information from Public Health Scotland.
Until then, for your information, guidance and ease of reference, please note the Scottish Governments 4 Phase Route Map out of lockdown: Please take time to read this important document:
In summary, the guidelines are clear that table tennis and other indoor sports cannot take place until Phase 3 at the earliest with social distancing measures still applying.
We are passionate about our sport and desperate to get playing again but Table Tennis Scotland must ask you all to recognize Phase 3 and the return to play could be several weeks away at least and must be approached with caution and care.
As the work with sportscotland on our table tennis specific guidelines progresses, we will share this information with you and seek your feedback and comments. In the meantime, we are sharing with you two ITTF COVID 19 documents which will be very helpful in developing our own route map to a safe return to play.
Please keep in touch, keep those videos and trick shots coming for the website and enjoy the latest easing of restrictions announced yesterday.
Stay healthy and keep safe,
Table Tennis Scotland
